Now that it is getting near the end of August, and temperatures in New England are about to drop precipitously, my thoughts are wandering towards open-topped motoring. And being the sort of person I am, I've been searching craigslist to see what sort of crazy sub-$3000 options there are out there...
First up the awesome kind of terrible, this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is pretty rough and beat, but would make for an epic open-air cruiser. I guarantee my trips to the beach would quadruple if I owned this, just because.

Next up is this " !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which the seller gets double point on for spelling both words in the brand wrong. At $900 it probably isn't a terrible deal, but I really would love to know what happened between the pics of it in a driveway intact and in what appears to be a tornado's aftermath with a smashed in windshield.

And lastly we have this "terrible at any price" 1 !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . It is going for the same $900 as the Alfa, but seems to be lacking important things like wheels, straight body panels, or any worth whatsoever as a vehicle. For added hilarity, the seller claims a car that is sitting on the brake rotors "runs and drives."

So what sort of ridiculous topless cars can you find near you?

That Oldsmobile is actually pretty sweet. With a little TLC to the paint and wheels, it could be a fun summer cruiser.

If that Olds is like the one I used to have, it is far from awful. Mine had a 455 Rocket motor and a nice set of headers that would just purr down the highway. It had the turning radius of an aircraft carrier and if you poured the gas straight on the ground, it would be about the same mileage as putting it in the tank There was room for everyone you knew, too God, that car was awesome!
